Area: 11,437 sq. km. (4,427 sq. mi.); about the size of Connecticut and Rhode Island combined.

Cities: Capital--Doha 1,100,000 (2010 est.). Other cities--Messaieed, Al-Khor, Dukhan, Ruwais. Terrain: Mostly desert, flat, rocky, barren. Climate: Hot and humid in summer, with a mild winter.
